Electric passenger airplanes?

When I was young I designed and built my own electric bicycle. And I certainly have been interested in Norway because my grandfather came from there, although it was before 1926 so it was technically Sweden. But when I saw that they are now planning on making planes for short distances which will be electric only, I admit that I didn't have the first thought of wanting to try it. I have driven cars with electricity, and when there is a problem use pull to the side of the road and resolve the problem. Somehow I have a different feeling about riding in a plane because there have been enough problems with current planes which have had electricity cause fires.

I am not against the idea, but I think I will wait until it's been running for a while before I will try it out.

Talking with some friends you have never physically met

I met a discussion about how long ago people started talking electronically two people that they had never physically met. I was surprised to remember that it was sending code through ham radio. Somewhere back in the 1950s.

It then went 2 voice discussion over CB radio, and back to typing when multics had the first email, which originally was not even between multiple computers. Since then it has moved until currently there are probably a dozen of ways to talk to people in the Millions, and probably at least 100 in small connections.

The oldest was Morse Telegram. That moves back into the end of the 1800s. January 11th 1838 to be exact.
